LIVERPOOL John Moores University’s Department of Sport and Exercise Science has partnered with Wattbike to revolutionise research capabilities through the introduction of eight Wattbike Nucleus and four Wattbike AtomX models into its performance laboratories.

The University exemplifies research excellence by utilising cutting-edge equipment to bolster its studies. Recently ranked among the world’s top Universities for Sport and Exercise Science by the QS World University Rankings, LJMU runs innovative programmes from state-of-the-art teaching facilities.

This collaboration between higher education and sports performance technology, with the introduction of Wattbikes to expand teaching opportunities and research possibilities, offers students valuable hands-on experience with equipment which revolutionises the performance laboratories and empower students to excel.

Tom Crampton, head of commercial at Wattbike, said: “We recognise the crucial need for simple solutions to gather objective data for research projects. In the fast-paced realm of sports and exercise science, staying at the forefront necessitates superior equipment that can meet the rigorous demands of tests and universities, as hubs of knowledge and innovation, strive to push their research to new heights.”

By integrating Wattbikes into the performance facilities on campus, students and staff can benefit from the precision of measurement, real-time feedback, customisable workouts, equipment that can seamlessly integrate into other laboratory equipment and software systems and indoor bikes that are built to be durable, withstanding the intense usage required in performance testing and research.
